Easter Booktag!

easter

(My dogs are joining me to wish you all a happy chocolate hunt along with an unamed bunny…)

So yes I thought I could celebrate Easter with a tag!!! This one was created by Rosie the Reader on booktube. Let us see the all mighty questions!!!

Rabbits – A book that you wish would multiply – So a book you want a sequel to (that doesn’t have one)

So easy!!! The last series I read, which I hope is incomplete and will have a new book soon, aka the  Caeli-Amur series by Rjurik Davidson (thank god I am not a booktuber I have no idea how to pronounce his name T-T). As you can all probably deduce from the review of the first book and the one coming up next week of the second book, it is by far the best 2016 revelation in fantasy for me. The writing style is really good, as is the world building and I just adore his characters (well… except Max but that’s another story). So there are currently two books Unwrapped Sky and The stars Askew and I hope there will be a third one!!! (please, please, please with BB8 on top)

Egg – A book that surprised you

I think that it was more the fact that I liked it which surprised me, because I don’t read that much contemporary and it is The readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald. It is the story of Sara who arrives in this small town in the US, all the way from Sweden to meet her pen pal Anny. But the day she arrives, Anny died. Sara still decides to stay in the small town and even opens a bookshop.

Hunt – A book that was hard for you to get your hands on

Let’s be honest nowadays with Amazon, BookDepositery, Abebooks and bookshops it is pretty easy to get a book and in the edition you like. But of course that is only true for fiction… Sadly, historians will know the struggle, history books are not that easy to find at a decent price and in the newest edition. The last one which gave me a nervous breakdown, I had to read it for my dissertation, I won’t bore you with the details since it’s a book in French and concerning the Library of the Duke of Berry.

Lambs – A children’s book that you still enjoy

I have almost not a lot of memory of children’s literature, because I read teen fiction quite early. But if I think very hard it would be Beatrix Potter’s Complete Tales. I used to love them as a kind and I reread them recently and it is as good as I remember.

19330
Spring – A book with a cover that makes you think of spring

To be honest I don’t have one in particular… But any cozy-mystery cover works 😉

Jesus – A religious or spiritual book that you love

I don’t read that many spiritual books…. Well I did read some from the Middle Ages because of my studies so I will cheat and pick The Book of Margery Kempe. She was a woman who believed she had illuminations and tried to act as a mystic from the Christ and wrote a book about it. But she mixes up everything and her dreams are retelling of what she learned. I had to do an oral on this book and I had so much fun preparing it.

Rising from the dead – A book from a deceased author

THE HOBBIT! Because this book seems to appear in every tag I do xD and it works 😛

5907
Baskets – A book that is in your amazon cart or wish list right now

Ho I have so many… As the quote from I-don’t-remember-who says “So many books, so little time…. But recently I added Joust by Mercedes Lackey. I don’t know much about this book except that it is written by one of my favorite authors xD and that it has dragons while mixing Ancient Egypt culture and Atlantis. Basically it was made for me xD

13993
Candy – A book that is sweet

Sweet as in tooth rotting fluff? Or sweet as in cooing after a puppy? (Not the same you know!). Hm I don’t know…. Probably The Fire Within (book 1 of The Last Dragon Chronicles) by Chris D’Lancey. I read this a while ago but I remember it being sweet.

1)Christmas Eve morning: what is a book you wake up excited to read? One you anticipate reading or one you read in the past that you want to get back into?

I really want to reread Eragon this year, I remember being unable to sleep because of it as a kid hence loooong reading night and of course finding ways to read past my bedtime xD Now that I’m all grown up who cares?

The Hobbit!!! Every time I read it I get the fuzzies.

4) Christmas Carols: What are your favorite Christmas Carols or holiday songs?

Hm. Hard one… Not entirely sure I never really listen to Christmas songs… Probably “Jingle Bell Rock” xD

5) Anticipation: What is a book release you are very much anticipating?

The new book in the Eragon series! And the new Song of Ice and Fire book.

6) You hear sleigh bells on the roof and are so excited you can’t sleep!: What is a book that kept you up all night?

12 days of Christmas booktag!

christmas-banner

Hey guys!!! It’s sunday which means a new tag! Sorry this one will be artless because I was traveling to my Christmas location hence I had no time to draw but tomorrow’s review will have a drawing! I promise ^^

So this tag was created by LizzieLovesBooks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNSxkWC0cK8

and without further ado let’s get into it!

1)A Partridge in a pear tree: Favorite Stand-Alone Book?

Probably a Discworld novel…. (I don’t read that much of standalone) I guess Pyramids by Terry Pratchett. It such a funny book and I could not put it down!!!!

2)Two Turtle Doves: Fictional OTP/Favorite Ship?

Ho. Well that’s a hard question…. When in A song of Ice and Fire it is Sandor and Sansa I think they match well together and their scenes were the ones I enjoyed the most and I still have a tiny hope that they will be reunited I mean I you consider the last installments it is possible (no spoiler I swear!).
3)Three French Hens: Favorite Trilogy?

My heart is divided between The Fellowship of the ring and the Broken Empire series. And I cannot choose…

4)Four Calling Birds: Favorite Fictional Beast/Creature?

Dragons!!!!! I thought it was obvious xD. Well I do love werewolves too. And elves. And many magical creatures xD I swear not only dragons.

5)Five Golden Rings: Show 5 Golden Books

Afficher l'image d'origine Really liked this first book although I was not really invested in the characters….

Afficher l'image d'origine I still need to read the two next of the series xD I will, I will, one day.

Afficher l'image d'origine Have I ever mentionned how much I love that cover? Well I do!

Afficher l'image d'origine Another great book which anyone should read!

Afficher l'image d'origine One of my favorite Agatha Christie novel! Love it to bits.

By the way finding 5 gold books was very hard!

6)Six Geese a Laying: Rotten egg- What’s your least favorite book?

Twilight. And I don’t think I need to develop that answer too much xD.

7)Seven Swans a Swimming: Show a Book with Water on the Cover

60814 Plenty of water here with this book on pirates!

8)Eight Maids a Milking: What fictional food do you wish you could taste?

Anything from the Harry Potter series it looks so good!!!! It always made me hungry when I read those descriptions!

9)Nine Ladies Dancing: Favorite dance between two characters?

Ho well… Nothing comes to mind… I did love Hermione dancing with Viktor Krum in Harry Potter 4, my little twelve year old self was very envious of her xD

10)Ten Lords a Leaping: Favorite Book-To-Movie-Adaptation?

I really loved the Lord of the ring series and I was a little bit more divided on the Hobbit’s (even if the first one is epic!). I think they did a great job with the atmosphere and the characters in both series; I really founded the universe I read and imagined. I was especially waiting for several scenes like the one in front of the Moira’s door or the battle with the Nazgûl but they turned out great.

11)Eleven Pipers Piping: Favorite Book-To-Movie-Adaptation Soundtrack?

Ha ha same as for question 10 xD.

12)Twelve Drummers Drumming: It’s the end of the song; what’s your favorite book ending?

Okay I had to think a lot for this one because even if I didn’t hated some endings I never really loved one except perhaps for Here there be Dragons and I cannot tell you why because that would be a spoiler.

Alright that is it for this tag! I hope you guys will have a great week! See you all soon!

All I want for Christmas booktag

christmas-banner

Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a good day and here we go for another tag!

It was created by A Thousand Lives of Daisy and here’s the link to the original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnIL1vliTDQ

1)What fictional character do you want Santa to leave under your Christmas tree?

I would love a Mabari!!!! For those who don’t play Dragon Age they are a type of war dog but at the same time they are super cute!

tag-2-pic-1

2)What character do you want to kiss under the mistletoe?

Jorg of Ancrath *.* He is my most recent book-crush xD

tag-2-pic-4

3)You write your Christmas list for Santa, what are the top 5 books on it?

Ho wow that’s hard. I mean I always have a super long list for Christmas but to choose only five… I guess it will be cheating if I only used manga title? Meh. I’ll try to narrow it down and try not to pick only continuation of series. I’ll try I never said I will succeed.

The Ancient Magus Bride volume 3 by Kore Yamazaki I am in love with this manga series! It has a great plot, great characters and every volume always ends with a sort of cliffhanger hence I really want to read the next volume. And probably the next. And next. xD And I really need to read them before the watching the Anime.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab I heard only good things about this fantasy series so I really would like to try it out.

X-Men: X-Corps (Uncanny X-Men, Volume I) by Joe Casey (Text), Ian Churchill (Illustrations), Sean Phillips (Illustrations), Tom Raney (Illustrations), Ashley Wood (Illustrations), Ron Garney (Illustrations), Aaron Lopresti I always loved the couple Phoenix/Wolverine so I tend to collect every volume were they are together because they are made for each other. And well now that Wolverine is dead…. Yes it’s official… I guess they will be together in the afterlife!

X-Men: The End Book Three by Chris Claremont and Sean Chen same thing as for the one before. Yeah I know these are a lot of comics but I always ask/buy more comics at Christmas because it’s my tradition.

-And the final volumes of Orange by Ichigo Takano. It’s a great series and I absolutely want to know what happens next!

4)It’s secret Santa at Hogwarts, what do you want to receive?

Hm…. A dragon? Or Charlie Weasley? xD I’m kidding but it’s been such a long time since I’ve read Harry Potter…. I would probably like one of the magical creatures all of them are so cute it was what made me love the series.

5)You get to spend the day with the characters and movie adaptation actors from one fandom, what do you pick?

That’s easy! The Hobbit cast and characters *.*

6)What fictional animal would you like to replace Rudolph and be able to meet on your roof?

Can’t you guess? A dragon! Of course it would have to be a dragon xD.

tag-2-pic-2

7)You invite 10 fictional characters to your New Year’s Eve party, who do you pick?

Yeah no drawing for this one because I know it would be too chaotic, especially with the ones I have in mind. Okay so here’s the list trust me if this really happens the house would explode.

-Bilbo Baggins

-Thorin Oakshield

– Jorg of Ancrath

-Sansa Stark

-Sandor Clegane

-Fred Weasley (and of course his dear twin)

-Deadpool

-Daken

-Poison Ivy

-Harley Quinn

8)What character would make a good Santa (Doesn’t have to be appearance, personality counts too)?

Hagrid! On Norbert (sorry for the colors I could not remember what color he was described to be in the books). I think he is one of the most kind and good hearted character I ever read about (that is human). And I think he would make a great Santa.

tag-2-pic-3

All righty guys that’s all for today! tomorrow a new review and next sunday a new tag!!!

I hope you will all have a great week see you later!!! =D

The Joy of Christmas Booktag!

christmas-banner

Hey guys! I thought it would be a good idea to do a countdown to Christmas with a few Christmas tag! So here is the first one!

Original tag was created by Samatha from Sam’s Nonsense https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ4DZ0uEXnk

1)Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

I’m not really sure because I really need to catch up on some series… But I guess the next Game of Throne’s book is the closest thing that comes to mind. I really want to know how it ends and I clearly need to catch up on the series because I’m on book four so I missed quite a bit.

2)Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?

That’s not hard, it’s my favorite French author Henri Loevenbruck. He is considered to be the next Umberto Eco in France and he has a variety of genres from fantasy to detective and I think his last one was purely fiction (not sure because I have not read it for some reason it is hard to find). There’s also Mark Lawrence because seriously nothing is better than the Broken Empire trilogy, the world building and the characterization are really great and I think it’s far better than some overhyped fantasy books that are merely as good.

As for dead authors well classics like Tolkien, Agatha Christie, Alexandre Dumas and Jane Austen because they are the ones who got me into reading. I think founding figures of genres like they are always hover on the shoulder of an author when he’s writing.

3) Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

Well a lot of fantasy series has great world building so that question is pretty hard….  I guess the last one I read with really a great world building was Here there be dragons.

4) A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read

I cannot choose only one favorite classic so I’m going to go with one I want to read and that is Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. People always talk about Shakespeare, Dickens or Jane Austen (not that they are all great) and I wanted something less hyped and on the Middle Ages. So I hope I will really like it!

5) Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas

Probably one of the books on my TBR…. Or a history book because they are great for my researches but super expensive… But besides that I don’t really have any specific ideas.

6) Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen! Every single time I read it I have those warm feeling and I feel “at home”. The same thing happens with The Hobbit.

7) Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?

Any Tolkien book covers by Harper Collins. But to diverse my reading spectrum (yes I know I speak a lot about Tolkien) probably the Discworld’s book I love the art that they used and I think it sticks perfectly to the novels.

8) Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?

I have a confession to make. I do not like Christmas. No really I don’t. I love Disneyland Christmas or decorating a tree (with geeky ornaments and of course nothing too red or that reminds me too much of Christmas). But besides that I found it depressing and stressful. I do enjoy the vacations though and seeing my family and also curling by the fireplace under a blanket with a mug of tea and a good book.

So that’s it for this tag! I hope you’ll enjoy it  and sorry for the lack of art, the next one should be more artsy!
